Marvan Atapattu shortlisted for national head coach post

Sri Lanka's interim head coach, Marvan Atapattu, is one among two names short-listed to take over as chief coach of the national team on a permanent basis. Sri Lanka cricket (SLC), in a media release, stated that Atapattu was one of the short-listed candidates while it did not reveal the other name.

"The Committee had a discussion with Marvan Attapattu and will discuss with the other candidate during the course of the day and the final decision will be conveyed to the Executive Committee (ExCo) for their ratification tomorrow (September 24, 2014)," it added.

However, Sri Lanka’s chief selector, Sanath Jayasuriya has resigned with immediate effect from the panel appointed by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to select the next national coach, this morning.
