The SLT
annual report has set a benchmark in financial reporting locally and won the
Gold award at the institute of Chartered Accountants Sri Lanka organized Annual
Report Awards 2011, under the ‘Telecommunication Sector’ category.
As one of
Sri Lanka’s best-loved brands, SLT was adjudged the winner in ‘Brand Leadership
Overall Category Award’ at the ‘Global Awards for Brand Excellence’ held in November
in India. The Global Awards for Brand attracted competition from more than 100
countries in categories ranging across brand building and management,
advertising campaigns and corporate profile.
SLT was
also recognized at the HRM Awards 2012 with a Silver Award, conducted by the
Association of Human Resources Professionals in partnership with AON Hewitt
India. SLT won a Silver Award for the implementation of Best HR Practices and
Techniques. Cutting edge HR practices and a large and dynamic set of people
make up the foundation on which SLT rests. The HRM Awards assess, recognize and
felicitate the best human resource management systems and processes among
corporate entities in the country.
SLT’s
legendary passion for sustainability initiatives and its commitment to bring
people closer together have not gone unnoticed. SLT received due recognition as
one of the Ten Best Corporate Citizens in Sri Lanka within the CSR &
Sustainable Business categories and also won a Category award of best performance
for Economic Contribution at the Best Corporate Citizens Award 2012,
conducted by the Ceylon Chamber of
Commerce.
Most
recently, the company won the overall National Business Excellence Award 2012 -
Organized by The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka. The company was
adjudged the Overall Winner - Gold Award; Sector Award- Best Capacity Builder;
Winner - Gold, Sector Award - Infrastructure and Utilities; Winner - Gold,
Sector Award - Extra Large Business Category; Winner - Gold and Sector Award -
Best Tech-Savvy Company; Runner up - Silver.
SLT remains
amongst the echelons of the country’s leading corporates, ranked 10th in the
Business Today ‘Top Twenty Five’ Awards 2010-2011 and is ranked No. 6 in Sri
Lanka LMD 100 ranking 2012.
