UNHRC Sri Lankan delegation to be named next week |
Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC)
The Sri Lankan delegation to the 22nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) session in Geneva would be named next week. Secretary to the Ministry of External Affairs Karunathilleke Amunugama expressing his views in this regard noted that Sri Lanka's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ravinatha Aryasinghe has been appointed to look into the required preparatory activities.
Meanwhile Sri Lanka's main Tamil party, Tamil National Alliance (TNA) said it expects the UNHRC to take stern action against the Sri Lankan government for the delay in implementing the LLRC recommendations.
The 22nd session of the United Nations Human Right's Council Session is scheduled to be held from February 25 - March 22.
