Malta to host CHOGM 2015

Malta is to host the next Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2015 following a unanimous decision this morning by the Commonwealth heads of government. The unexpected decision was taken during the current CHOGM in Sri Lanka which is being attended by Malta’s Prime Minister Joseph Muscat. Malta showed interest in hosting the event after the expected host, Mauritius Islands , withdrew from hosting it. Malta also hosted CHOGM in 2005.
