Sri Lanka set to begin island wide survey of civil war
dead and property damage

Sri Lanka's Department of Census and Statistics is set to start a survey to determine the number of people killed and property damages occurred during the country's three-decade long civil war(1983 to 2009), the government says.

The island‐wide census will collect detailed information on the deaths, missing persons, injured and/or disabled persons, and damages to the property.

The Census will be completed by 20th December and the report will be made available by March next year.
