Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 13 runs in the first one-day international in Dhaka(Bangladesh) to take the lead in the three-match series.
The hosts, who won the toss and chose to field at the ShereBangla National Stadium in a match reduced to 43 overs per side, dismissed Sri Lanka for 180 in 40 overs.

Thisara Perera smashed an unbeaten 80 off 57 balls to lift the tourists from a hopeless 67 for 8 in the 22nd over to 180 all out. Chasing a score of 181 runs.

Bangladesh were off to a poor start losing Anamul Haque in the first over but the other Haque, Mominul played an enterprising knock of 44 to add 79 runs with Shamshur Rahman to get the chase back on track.

Rahman played a superb knock scoring a fifty but fell at the wrong time as Bangladesh yet again collapsed to hand Sri Lanka the win.

The second and third matches will be played at the same venue on Thursday and Saturday.
