Imported levy on Potatoes and Big Onions increased

The special commodity levy on imported Potatoes and big onions have been increased to Rs 40 per kg and Rs 35 per kg form 23rd August, the Finance ministry said.

This is the second occasion, where the ministry increased the levy on imported big onions and potatoes within this month.

It said the import levy was increased to safeguard the local farmers.
