OMAK - Venture Engine 1st runner up |
Following
its success as first runner up of Sri Lanka’s premier business funding platform
Venture Engine 2014, OMAK Technologies (Pvt) Ltd. is poised for growth. The tech
startup provides bespoke software covering all aspects of running and managing
a restaurant. OMAK’s continuously monitored, function rich Software As A
Service (SAAS) solution VDine, provides incredible efficiencies to the
hospitality sector and is already making its way beyond Lankan shores.
As a
scalable solution that can be operated on the go, the product covers the widest
range of options currently available in the Sri Lankan market. It also provides
the fastest return on investment in its field. The solution covers restaurant floor
management, kitchen efficiency and productivity, ordering, customer
satisfaction and CRM operations, human resource management, inventory and
supply management, remote access and even monitors your social media presence.
Speaking
on the main benefits of the solution, Ehantha Sirisena, Managing Director
explained, “Our solution is essentially a rented software that is constantly monitored,
upgraded and maintained. Its
cost-effective monthly payments do not burden a restaurant’s Cap-ex budget,
making it an attractive option even for smaller scale operations. VDine is cloud hosted and tailored to work
perfectly on devices such as iPads and iPods.”
By
participating in Venture Engine, OMAK received exposure to several potential
Angel Investors, both from Sri Lanka and India. Through the program OMAK was successful
in gaining the funding and contacts necessary to expand into international
markets. Well known entrepreneur, Vice President of Google Inc., Managing
Director of Google India and Indian Angel Network investor Rajan Anandan, is
also set to invest in OMAK while assisting with regional growth. As Co-Founder of Blue Ocean Ventures, Anandan
is also responsible for initiating the Venture Engine competition.

impressive portfolio of clients already covers popular local establishments
such as Ministry of Crab, Keama Sutra, Silk, Sopranos, Ministry of Crab, the
