Formerly known as Lakmini (Pvt) Ltd, Tiesh founded by Lasantha De Fonseka has been a legendary provider of precious stones and exquisitely hand-crafted jewellery for decades. Tiesh initially commenced operations in Kandy to meet the growing demand for gems and jewellery in the tourism industry.

Currently the business continues to grow in Colombo with its new state-of-the art Diamond showroom housing a variety of differently-cut diamonds and elegantly crafted diamond jewellery. All this is in addition to the existing rich collection of gemstones including sapphires, rubies, cat’s eyes, alexandrites etc. supplemented by exquisitely hand-crafted jewellery in yellow gold, white gold and silver.

Tiesh is not merely a showroom, it also provides a fountain of knowledge with its auditorium, gemological museum, testing laboratory, jewellery workshop and of course a replica of a gem mine. A team of qualified personnel fluent in a variety of foreign languages are present to assist customers of different nationalities. Tiesh’s finely crafted jewellery and gem stones have gained a reputation for their quality around the world and many buyers from European countries such as France, England, Germany and Russia often flock to the store during their travels to Sri Lanka. There has also been an increase in customers from Thailand, China and the Far East as well.
