Park Street Mews and Hilton create unique culinary experience
HSBC Colombo Fashion Week (CFW)'s most anticipated
3rd edition of CFW Fashion & Food will be a highlight from 20th to 28th
February. All restaurants and cafes in Park Street Mews have partnered CFW in
this year’s ‘Fashion & Food’ odyssey. CFW’s partner hotel, Hilton Colombo’s
two restaurants, Il Ponte and IKOI TEI , will also serve up some
fashionable food during the duration of CFW. A CFW launch party will be held on
20th February at Park Street Mews where designers, artists, chefs,
creative minds and eminent invitees will gather to kick off the Spring/Summer
Season of the 13th year of CFW.
Food can also
be termed a visual exploration just as art is - and by combining unique
aesthetic culinary experiences during CFW, fashion week highlights the
confluence of fashion with every individual’s daily lives. Commenting on the CFW Fashion & Food, Ajai Vir Singh,
President and Founder, Colombo Fashion Week stated: “CFW as a creative body
encourages the interaction between various creative themes, food being one. This
year we look forward to seeing an exciting fushion between cuisine and fashion
by renowned chefs at each of the CFW Fashion & Food restaurants. This
series gives us another reason to enjoy and celebrate Colombo for another
week.”
Park Street Mews’ restaurants will set high benchmarks
as fashion and food destinations during CFW and can leverage on this high
profile platform to showcase their culinary mastery. All over the world, people
are making style statements with the food they consume and these restaurants
too will display how fashion and food combine harmoniously. The restaurants
that will be part of the fashion and food extravaganza are Café Francais, Park
Street Mews, La Trattoria, Curve and Il Ponte and IKOI TEI at Hilton Colombo.
Whether it is
seasonal indulgences, high-end ingredients, calorie conscious cuisine, or
comfort food presented stylishly, the ‘Fashion & Food’ choices during CFW
will be plentiful. CFW is a platform for
innovation and experimentation and the restaurants too will rise to the
occasion and showcase their best culinary skills as art forms to match the
aesthetics and craftsmanship that will be visible on the CFW runways.
The
eagerly-anticipated CFW, now in its 13th year, is single-handedly
crafting a retail infrastructure for the local design industry, and by boosting
the connection between food and fashion, it is providing the right impetus for
restaurants to set higher benchmarks to become more sustainable not only during
CFW, but also beyond - to cater to the country’s growing tourism industry.
HSBC CFW 2016 is enriched by its partners: HSBC,
Hilton, Land Rover, Colombo Jewelry Stores, Wineworld, Olu Water, Vision Care,
Unilever - Ponds BB, Ramani Fernando Salons, Spa Ceylon, Illy Coffee, Hameedia,
Hellmann Logistics and Emerging Media – who share and extend their support
towards the vision and aspirations of CFW.
